TREKKING AND HIKING
Varied and readily accessible the trails, "sentieri", along the Amalfi and Sorrentine Coasts provide a true wonderland of natural beauty. Capri as well affords us unique and intuitive insights into the enthusiasm and wonder expressed by so many visitors from near and far. “The Walk of the Gods” certainly the most well known trail is a must see way to experience this paradise from high above the sea as well as the cascades and medieval ruins of Amalfi and its rivers and forests.
Crepe soled walking shoes or hiking boots, a knapsack with personal items, a liter of water, sunscreen, a hat and comfortable clothing (shorts are fine) and if you choose hiking poles though not obligatory and we’re on our way!
"LA DIVINA"
The Divine Coast. Why so? Well, it's the place where the gods dwelt!! In pre-history and in pre-Christian times. Greeks and Romans were aware of the abounding energy in these ancient landscapes, and in their devotion were inspired to erect temples in the most beautiful settings to honor the Divine in its many aspects.
The thirteen villages which comprise the Amalfi Coast today each have a particular and pervasive history and beauty which distinguishes them from one another and yet together they form a perfect string of pearls. Each is to be savoured and enjoyed , some for only an hour or so,others for a day.
What to do and where to stay during a 3 day visit, a week or longer? This my purpose and pleasure,to have you fall in love with this timeless land.
THE WALK OF THE GODS
THE PATHS THAT ALLOW THE IMMAGINATION TO GRASP THE INFINITE
A place where the Ancients workshipped where the Gods dwelt. A sense of awe in the presence of beauty subtle and tranquil. A sense of the infinite - yet wild and powerful. A beauty that inspired and inspires still all who came here, for the essence of this experience is universal. There is a profound sense of joy in simply being here. From the heights of these mountains you will be able to experience some of the most spectacular views of the Amalfi Coast.
From Scala we begin this walk into a forgotten corner of Paradise on the Amalfi Coast.
A spectacle of overflowing cascades await us amidst hills and mountain streams. A hidden valley close by enchants in a surprising and dramatic turn of the environment as we enter into another age.
XIth and XIIth century ruins await us on every turn.
Dramatic adventure hikes along the coastal terrain and little known trails of Capri steeped in history and drama. A full day of new sensations and explorations await us.
SANTA MARIA DEL CASTELLO
UP THROUGH THE FOREST DOWN THE SWITCHBACKS TO POSITANO
Here we enter the woodlands and mountains just behind Positano and wander through terrain untouched by the hand of man. Forest fauna and perfumes permeate the moist ground all around us as we go higher to the magnificient panoramas below. On the crest of Santa Maria del Castello a rustic lunch awaits us. Our return is across the mountain face with spectacular panoramas of Positano and the sea below.
WALKS & HIKES
The natural beauty is quite simply, astounding. It sensuously stretches south, arching up into craggy mountains and curving alluringly around hidden fishing coves.
It teases and beckons you to look a little further, and before you realize it's even happening, you've fallen in love with the place.
As precious as the towns of the coast are, there is another facet that shouldn't be forgotten and that is to quite literally "head for the hills".
In bygone times the only land connection between villages were the "sentieri", or pathways and walks that criss-crossed the mountains. Today these paths can be enjoyed for pleasure rather than survival, and if you "come with me" I'll lead you along paths to places of infinite beauty and breathtaking wonder.
Walks can, and often do, incorporate a lunch stop, whether it be a picnic or a trattoria. Routes are undertaken dependent on a clients requirements and are personally designed with these in mind.
Walks can be a few hours long a day, or can even extend over 3 days to a week.
